Eight trends to judge from Alexander Wangs s/s 10 show. High School football turned into this - Varsity pinup, and i like it. Its simple yet edgy, its wearable yet the detailing is fantastic, and its sportswear turned high fashion. As Meenal Mistry from style.com put it ' The look here was varsity pinup, as if a bevy of cool but wayward high-school girls had raided the locker room armed with a pair of scissors''

This is Haute Couture
Givenchy. Haute Couture, f/w 09. This is what we call high fashion. Designs that are so incredibly fantastic and akward at the same time, no one would wear them. This is when fashion is at its best, when its art, when you can stare at it for minutes at a time and be completly enchanted by every little detailing from the seams to the pleats. I say Thank you Riccardo Tisci, for such beautiful creations that are nothing less than spectacular.

Lady Dior
Marion Cotillard, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of French songbird Edith Piaf in "La Vie en Rose", is the face of the new campaign for the Lady Dior handbag. Shot on top of the Eiffel Tower, symbolising the canework pattern on the bag, this the the first of four ads. Paris is the first stop for Ms. Cotillard and her baggage, her next adventure will be revealed on the soon-to-be-launched website LadyDior.com.
I love this ad, not so much for the bag but Marion looks incredible. And the shoes are amazing, plus i love how there's that wide space next to her, and Paris going on for miles and miles.

Stopped by the Bright show at lunch with Emma and Sara. Bright is a collaboration between Nhu Doung (last years Young Fashion Industry Award winner), Anders Bergren and Linda Spjut. It was very different, a video display collaboration based on Peppers ghost illusion which means nothing is edited in software applications.
Fun with something new but not this. It was all quite akward, maybe its me who doesnt understand the art of video installations. I do however love Nhu Doung's Safety Pin Collection but thought they could have put some more garments on display other than the two. I'm inspired to make my own safety pin jacket, definantly a DIY project!

In the days before Fashion Week by Berns is set to begin, Berns Salonger will present the first Scandinavian Fashion Rocks ever, where the premiere Scandinavian designers are showing their A/W09 collections to live musical performances. The event will be hosted by the famous supermodel Lydia Hearst.
Supermodel Lydia Hearst will host over two evenings of LIVE runway shows and LIVE musical performances, featuring Dagmar, Islaet, J. Lindeberg, Ann-Sofie Back, Ida Sjöstedt, Veronica Maggio, Moto Boy, September and many more!
Fashion Rocks takes place on the 25 & 26 of June at Berns Salonger. Tickets are available for 495 Kr at ticnet.se and all sales will benefit the The Prince's Trust and Operation Smile.
For those of you that won't be attending Fashion Week by Berns this could be an alternative to get to see some highly creative fashion shows!

CFDA Awards
Last night the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards took place in New York.
The biggest names in fashion and the most expensive gowns to match. I always look forward to the pictures the day after, since the attendees of the event always dress to impress. And judging by last nights attire, its all about the shoulders and showing some leg. I love Diana Kreugers customised Jason Wu red mini dress with the beaded shoulders. Ashley Olsen looked adorable in an orange gown with exageratted shoulders from New York Vintage. The only one who seemed to go for the well known 'less is more' was Blake Lively, in a hot pink tube dress from Michael Kors, and the color looked fantastic!
And speaking of dresses, i think i've finally found one to wear to that wedding i've been ranting on about for so long.

Jimmy Choo for H&M
The next designer to do a guest spot at H&M is none other than Jimmy Choo. Bringing its glamorous shoes and gorgeous bags to selected H&M stores around the world. This will be the first time that H&M is collaborating with an accessories brand. Jimmy Choo will be broadening its designs for this collection to women's clothing as well as the accessories. And thats not all, this line will also be including a men's collection of shoes, bags and accessories, so that your man can have pretty shoes on his feet as well.
The collection will be available from November 14 in around 200 stores across the world.
For once i actually believe that i'll be queing up outside H&M anxiously awaiting to try on the perfect stilettos.

The schedule for Fashion Week by Berns has finally been released. Missing from the list are the bigger names such as Acne, Filippa K, Minimarket and Whyred amongst others. Which is ashame as i really enjoyed the Minimarket show last year. I am however looking forward to newcomers such as Isleat, Säby, Odeur and Lagom.

Alexander, Alexander! I love this, especially the playsuit, and the white hole-knitted jumper ( which is probably a quite easy DIY project, if you know how to knit). Do you see the topp with chain pattern that you can hint under that awesome suede mc jacket? I'm sure i've seen an almost identical one at H&M awhile back. And how about that big beige bag? So simple yet so damn nice. I do love that mesh and silk romper though. Clean, simple and casual.

Bangkok's modevecka avslutades med alltid lika fantastiska Flynow. Visningen var otroligt bra arrangerad. Kunde lika gärna ha platsat på catwalken i Paris. Brevid mig på front row hade jag K. Kusuma som är editor in chief för Harpeer's Bazaar och HRH Princess Sirivannavari. Och kollektionen, Fashion is a Victim var en blanding mellan Balenciaga's höfter, Comme des Garcon's prickar och Maison Martin Margiela's axlar. Fantastic! Sprang backstage och pratade med Chamnan Pakdeesuk (designern bakom flynow) efter showen och gratulerade, kommer upp en intervju inom kort. Om ni är i Bangkok tycker jag definitivt ni ska spana in märket, dessutom har dom ett factory outlet utanför Bangkok (99
haute texture
Igar kvall var det visningar for hela slanten. Best var helt klart Eric Raisina's Haute Texture. Helt fantastiska tyger. Sedan blev det fest for Guru Magazine. Vidare till Route 66 for dans. Och natten avslutades pa obligatoriska soi 38 for khao mung gai (amazing rice and chicken). Nu vantar jag pa att min pojk ska komma till stan fran koh samet och joina mig pa vart 4 stjarniga hotel. Ikvall ar det visningar igen, da jag lar skippa forsta visningen som ar en joint visning med massa marken som Guy Laroche och Elle som visar sina bad kollektioner. Istallet satsar jag pa Asvana for Singha.

Sjalv ser jag mest fram emot sondagens visningar (especially 27 Nov), men aven Chaos Couture. Blir kul med lite internationellt pa asiatiska mode scenen. Jag missar kvallens visningar da jag ar kvar pa Koh Samet (dar solen ar en no show!) men fredags kvallen far en bra start med 2 visningar pa raken innan drinkar med tjejerna.

Imorgon flyger jag till Bangkok för att gå på Bangkok International Fashion Week. Mode veckan drar igång i slutet av nästa vecka, och visningarna jag ser mest fram emot är 27 Nov och Flynow. Dock känns det som att jag har nada kläder passande för 4 dagar av mingel, men det får bli lite shopping i helgen helt enkelt. Annars hade ovanstående ensemble suttit fint fint. Hur fin är inte ringen från Delfina Delettrez?

Denna outfit hade suttit som smack på invigningen av Harper's Bazaar Fashion Week som drar igång i Bangkok nästa vecka. Nu äger jag ju inget av det ovanför så jag får snällt gräva vidare i min garderob för att hitta något passande. Men drömma kan man alltid.

Sist var det Prada visningen. Nu, igår var det Hervé Léger. The falling models. En ny trend eller helt enkelt jobbigt höga skor? Modellerna var lika snabba med att ställa sig upp igen, vilket resulterade i applåder! Props to them!
