H&M F/W 2010 - preview

I HAD THE PRIVILAGE of sneaking a peak at H&M's fall collection this afternoon, why you'll find out in about a week. And what can i say? I want it all! And rather now than later. But alot of the above will be available in stores come July, the rest around week 33-37 (meaning mid August-September). I love the classic dressy look that oozes Celine, Chloé and even hints of Givenchy. My favourite as I'm sure no one has forseen is that fantastic beige/camel leather jacket. I had to try it on, will show you pics of that later. More pics to come so stay tuned.
spring twenty ten

SNOW! It actually snowed on my way to work. Ok they were teeny, tiny specs, but still its the 21st of April and all i want is spring spring spring and to be able to dress like the above!
I want to dress in patterns, colors and prints. Not so much the nude, beige and earthy tones, i think i may have gotten my fair share of that already. Bring on the colors (!), or maybe it's this editorial that's left its influential mark on me. Either way I'm staying away from blacks & greys.
safari

TWO SAFARI inspired pieces coming to MQ this spring. The shirtdress is from 365 Sunshine and costs 599:- SEK and the fantastic one shoulder print chiffon piece is from Stockholm priced at 799:- SEK. Bought land in store week 19 - meaning the second week of May.
Zac Posen for Target

ZAC POSEN FOR TARGET hits stores across the US on April 25th. Even though i'm tired as hell of collaborations, there are a few key peices here that fell right in time. The Hawaii shirt, the maxi floral dress, the metallic bralets and the red leather jacket! My favourite though, and the one item that will keep me on E-bay on the day of release is the yellow rain coat! It feels like it's something i could really use come Swedish (rainy!) summer!
if i could have just one

JACKET it would be this from Celine. The seams, the colors, the padding, the zippers, the details! WOW! Phoebe Philo you sure are a genius, and friends and family you can write this one up on my wish list for my 25th!

ACNE FALL 2010 - Preview

ACNE previewed their Fall 2010 collection last night in London. I got a hold of some pics, a little sneak. Before the actual Show has even begun at Enskilda Galleriet right here in Stockholm (it's starting in 25 minutes). SO what conclutions can we draw from this? Definantly stick to your prints, whether it be on tights or dresses, pastels and nudes will still me on the map in October, the trench is hanging on after spring and your leather jacket is as always a keeper! What ya'll think?
the row pre-fall 2010

MARY KATE & ASHLEYS OLSEN label The Row launched their website yesterday. We havent heard much from the brand since their memorable video when the brand launched 2006. The main focus seems to have been on sister line Elizabeth & James. But now with the launch of the website the twins reveal sneaks from both Womens and Mens Pre-Fall 2010 collections as well as a news section that promises a behind the scenes peek from their presentation at NY Fashion week. And soon to come, a webshop! Above, my favourites from Womens Pre-Fall 2010, very wearable and I'm especially loving the red maxi skirt, which surprisingly DOES'NT scream christmas, as you though a red maxi skirt would.
Sonia Rykiel pour H&M part deux

HERE you have it. Part two of the collaboration between Sonia Rykiel for H&M. And it's very Rykiel. I'm not a huge fan, however there are some key peices I like. The hot pink blazer is adorable, and i love the brooches on it, which are unlikely to be included. And the yellow and white striped sweater with the giant bow. Cute cute cute! But my favourite thing has to be the black rhinestone covered basker. Would love to meet spring with that on my head.
What do you guys think? Any favourites? Will you be queing up when it hits the stores in February?
Sonia Rykiel pour H&M
Last night the collaboration between Sonia Rykiel and H&M was revealed to fashionistas and celebrities such as Kate Bosworth, Eva Herzigova and Nadja Auermann in a magical world in Paris. One of the city’s most famous buildings, The Grand Palais, was transformed into a Parisian fantasy land for 2,000 specially invited guests. Amongst them was designer Jean Paul Gaultier, and photographer Ellen von Unwerth. Before arriving at the piece the resistance, a recreation of Saint Germain, the spiritual home of Sonia Rykiel, guests had to walk through and enchanted forest.
Seated under a specially made Eiffel Tower, guests were given a preview of the Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie collection, which debuts in around 1500 H&M stores worldwide from December 5, as well as the knitwear collection for women and girls, which arrives in around 200 stores on February 20, 2010.
17 Designers

Amongst these we find names such as Acne, Hope, Dagmar, Filippa K, Carin Wester and Cheap Monday. Acne and Hope have said that they are going all in this time, which leaves us fashionistas wondering and contemplating the meaning of all in? Fashion Show?
whyred S/S 10

Does'nt the green one look an aweful lot like my Bergman dress from Acne that i wore to the Blog Awards?

These zipper boots are rad, you use if you want knee highs or ankle boots. They're aldreay out online and in the store, and they'll be yours for 5000SEK.

The leather blazer and the midnight blue dress are my favourites. I love the drapings on the dress and it reminds me of Burberry Prorsums S/S 10. The disco thights are too bad either.
Spring at H&M

OK. So how promising doesn't this look. This is spring 2010 according to H&M. Etno, vintage and very Mary Kate inspired. I love it! It feels luxuriously chic. My favourites? This and this. Would you wear this? More pics here.
five style rules to break

Tfs and sheknows recently did an article about five style rules they think it's time for us to break. How many times haven't we stood there infront of the mirror with an outfit on that we think looks rad (stripes & polka dots, leopard&zebra anyone?) but decided to change last minute because of being misplaced in public or rather cause we feel we're breaking some essential style code! Heres the list, and i couldn't agree more.
Mixing prints
Houndstooth and stripes? Hells, yes! Mixing prints, when done correctly, can bring your style to new heights of bohemian chic and you're guaranteed to not look like every other girl on the street. That said, still use your better judgment: mixing two retro paisley prints will cast you as a prop on That '70s Show in no time. Stripes in particular are a great print to mix with; try stripes with polka dots, plaids, houndstooth, anything - the sky is the limit on this one!Black and brown
Once considered a set-in stone fashion faux pas, the fashion world has warmed to and even embraced wearing black and brown together. If you haven't tried this color combo out yet, it's certainly high time! An all black ensemble with brown boots is almost guaranteed fabulous. Be careful with lighter shades of brown however. Black with brown that is more camel in color can come off as very cowboy western.White after Labor Day
No white after Labor Day is a tale as old as time, and not one you should take stock in. A well-placed winter white piece is undeniably stylish. When it comes to wearing white after Labor Day, the fabric of the white item is key in determining whether it's appropriate. As a general rule, heavier fabrics such as wool are a go and lighter ones such as linen are a no no. And white shoes? Well those are universally taboo post early fall.Monochromatic
Don't let it get stuck in your head that wearing an outfit all of one color is necessarily boring and a bad thing. Believe it or not, some people only and always wear the same color! New York Magazine recently did a feature on this to learn about five New Yorkers who don the same shade day in and day out. While we don't advocate limiting your entire wardrobe to just one hue, it does go to show that it is possible to assemble a fabulous outfit that way. An all black ensemble, for example, can look goth or chic; it all depends on how you put it together. Uni-colored outfits also get a boost from creating a streamlined silhouette, which has a slimming effect.Accessorize
How many times have you heard that it's the accessories that make the outfit? Well sometimes just the opposite is true. When you're wearing truly fantastic clothes, don't be afraid to let them speak for themselves and accessorize minimally or not at all. Particularly with more intricate pieces, accessories can overwhelm the overall ensemble and can actually be a disservice.winter kate

Here you have it. Nicole Richies new line. She's expanding from successful jewelery line House of Harlow 1960, into Winter Kate (the two middle names of her daughter Harlow). The new line of appareal and accessories have the same vintage feel yet classic aesthetic. The new line which is created in partnership with Majestic Mills will include around 40 pieces from dress to shorts in silk and chiffon with handcrafted embroidery. I'm looking forward to this. Love the rustic yet classic feel, and the retro chicness. The line will be available starting February 2010. Winter Kate - i love the name.

a s dåvik

Went to the launch of Anna Sara Dåviks jewellery collection today after work with this hot lady. A-S Dåviks fingertop nails are fantastic! New, creative and different, a great way to accesorize. They are available in 925 Silver and 18K gold. The jewellry is hand made in Sweden and come in luxurious boxes from Italy. My favourite thing in the small but impressive collection was the nail gloves. Brown leather gloves with 925 Silver nails on every fingertop. A minus? The price, the cheapest nail for your pinky finger in silver will set you back 1595 SEK.
in the mail

Just got home to find to packages from Yves Saint Laurent in the mail. Me and hubby got a tote from the Manifesto each! Awesomeness, will definantly be using mine within the near future. Thank you YSL!

sonia rykiel for h&m

Even before one designer collaboration has even hit the stores, the next one is announced. Starting december 5th Sonia Rykiel will be warming us up for the holiday season. The Queen of Knits will also be designing a range of lingerie and extended accessories for H&M, that will be available in Sonia Rykiel stores as well as 1,500 H&M stores around the world, this marks a first for H&M.
And come spring, the collaboration will continue into what Rykiel is most famous for, her knits. The knitwear collection will be available for both woman and girls aged 1.5 to 8years old, and will be launched February 8th, 2010 in 250 H&M stores around the globe.
“It is a hallmark of Sonia Rykiel to think of all women because fashion is about a certain spirit more than a question of means. This collaboration fits perfectly with our philosophy. The Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie collection is the ideal way to offer the essence of Rykiel to a great number of women around the world, and a beautiful way to close the year. The knitwear collection is perfect for welcoming a colourful new season,” says Nathalie Rykiel, president and artistic director of Sonia Rykiel.
lolitaesque

![]()

So we are definantly leaving the hard, black, studded, and trashy trends behind us for Spring/Summer 2010.
Make way for the feminine. Pastels, drappings, dresses, chiffong, dressy, lolitaesque and glamourous. Especially if we are to trust Burberry Prorsum. Other feminine collections from London fashion week inclue Christopher Kane (very lolitaesque, with every piece focusing on pastel checkered table cloth fabric!!) and Antonio Berardi.
Are you looking forward towards Spring/Summer 2010? Are you glad we're moving towards brighter and more feminine fashion? Are you sick of the dark/edgy/trashy style?
